Does the GPS always take you the best way?

We are celebrating that we finally arrived at our destination after many curves through the mountains!

Just trying to resemble the authentic "German" costume of the region.

The new fashionable hat for 2011!

Splitting our first piece of Black Forest Cake!

A double rainbow could be seen out our backdoor after a summer storm.
Trying to take advantage of a Saturday off before all the students arrive, we decided to venture into the "unknown" and follow the route our GPS said to go to get to a scenic town and lake that was suppose to be one hour away.  Two hours later, many curves through the mountains, and one motion-sick mom, we finally found our way to Lake Titisee.  It was great to be in the beauty of God's creation and spend time as a family.  We even located a cafe with kuchen (cake).  If you know me (Melissa) well, you know that wasn't a hard task.  We split a piece of Black Forest cake before getting back in the car and winding our way back to Kandern.
We will begin a week of training/ preparation with all the new Black Forest Academy staff.  Thankfully, the girls will play with other children while we are in different sessions that will help us know more about the school, Rick's teaching and the students that will be coming to attend BFA.  Please pray the Lord continues to ready our hearts and minds to be ministers of the gospel to these students.
