Arriving in Germany...

How sweet a sound to hear the church bells ring throughout our day as we unpacked and settled into our new home.  It was a constant reminder to me of the reason our family has traveled this far and changed so much in our lives.  We serve a great and awesome God!  It reminds me that it is His work we have come to do.  What amazing gifts He has given to us!   His creation is so beautiful in Kandern.  From my kitchen window I can see the forest.  This evening as I rushed to the market at 8:55 pm (which come to find out closes at 6:00), I saw the most beautiful hues of pink and orange in the sky.  I walked slowly home in order to appreciate the beauty of His splendor!
Thank you for all that were praying for our trip to Germany!  It was amusing but uneventful.  We made all of our flights and trains.  Our host family is delightful.  Lee took Rick to get registered with the government, the bank and to get our car.  They also had us over for a yummy dinner this evening.  So great after a day of working around our new home. The girls enjoyed having children to hang out with this evening.
Funny find of the day:  Did you know mustard and mayonnaise come in a tube that looks like toothpaste here?  Wouldn't that be a terrible mistake if I had gone to the store and bought what I thought was toothpaste and brushed with mustard instead?
My body says it is well past due to be in bed.  I look forward to continuing to settling in tomorrow.  We will  also eat dinner with a new friend that we met in Chicago when we were at TeachBeyond's tranining in June.  Carrie Beth (CB) arrived two weeks ago to Kandern. CB Watson is the 3rd grade teacher for the elementary school.  We are going to meet at the Asia Wok.  Don't laugh please that we aren't eating German food yet.  Kaylin has been looking forward to going back to this restaurant since we visited it in 2007.
Gute nacht!  (Good Night!)
