FRIENDS! Gary and Leigh Wilkins came to visit at the beginning of Spring break.
What a blessing to have our Spring break begin with friends from the U.S. It was so refreshing to have great fellowship with our friends, hear their encouragments to "press on" in Germany and laugh a lot! Quite a balm to our somewhat tired bodies after a very busy 2nd semester at BFA. We enjoyed sight seeing with them at our favorite castle ruins in the area and obviously had to show hospitality by taking them to kaffee and kuchen (coffee and cake) time! (It wasn't selfish in the least, I assure you! :) ) Our children were even ministered to by them as they brought "fruit roll-ups and Mac-n-cheese packets" for them. Funny what you miss when you are in a different country.
Kaylin and Lauren on Easter morning... in Paris, France!
The day after the Wilkins left, our family traveled by train to Paris. What a wonderful opportunity to live so close to such a beautiful city full of people, places to see, parks and PIGEONS! We were thankful to have a few days in Paris as a family and to live close enough to go visit it during break!
Through the many places where we saw people (the Metro, the train, the tourist attractions) we remembered, "For God so loved the world!" Each face and each language spoken is known by Him. What a blessing to be able to pray for the people and that their hearts would be able to see the light of Christ and their need for Him!
Easter day at the Champ de Mars (by the Eiffel tower)!
"OOOOHHHHH!" said the tourists as the Eiffel tower began to glow with lights.
Taking in the view from the Arc de Triomphe!
Notre Dame! Our kids loved how quiet it was inside. They also loved chasing pigeons outside in the courtyard.
Fun times at dinner! I think it was the caramel crepe that was making Lauren so happy! (Or maybe it was what made me so happy!)
Rick finally had the opportunity to meet his childhood nickname, "The Thinker!" at Rodin's Museum.
The pigeons of Paris were well fed while the Bush girls visited their city! This was probably the girls favorite activity of Paris! We were glad it was FREE!
We pray you had a wonderful Easter celebration with your family and/or friends! We miss seeing the students of BFA but we are so glad most of them can be "home" with their families for a few weeks! When school begins next week, we will only have six more weeks with them before summer break.
Our summer break plans now include a trip back to the USA. Our living situation for the summer changed and we will have more time now before being able to move into our home for the next school year. So from June 6 - July 6th we will be in the US. We pray we will have the opportunity to see many of you! YAY!
Hugs to you!
